What to expect for your Studio Session at The Nest Studio in Shoreline, WA | Seattle Mini Sessions

Are you looking for the perfect holiday mini session out of the rain? Or a cozy spot for in home newborn style photos that aren’t actually in your home? North City Studio has expanded to a second location, The Nest, in Shoreline, WA. The studio is available year round and has beautiful seasonal set installments, a living room setting, and a blank space that we can use to capture your vision. It is perfect for cozy indoor newborn photos, seasonal mini sessions, winter family photos, and branding/headshots. Wanna make your life easier? I plan to host select mini session days at the studio to make photographing you and your family as quick and painless as possible ;)

Pros to shooting in the studio:

· The rain is never a problem =)

· We can dance to your favorite jam or crank up the holiday music while we shoot.

· Do you want two looks for your photos? No problem, we can just turn around and use the other side of the studio

· The bathroom is just down the stairs.

· Beautiful white walls and ceiling bounce the light around for gorgeous photos.

· No need to stress about picking up your house ;)

· It’s only a couple of blocks from North City Studio, right here in Shoreline, WA!

If this is your first time visiting me at the studio for your photo session, there are a few things to know that will make your session run smoothly and feel most enjoyable.

· Just because we’re in the studio does not mean your photos need to look stiff or awkward! I still adore connected photos that showcase all the joy and love in your family. I will still ask you to look at each other, tell each other jokes and stories, or snuggle in close right before the tickle monster strikes. Read more tips on achieving connected looking photos.

· The Nest is typically set up with one seasonal or holiday themed set, one living room set, and a blank white wall for a neutral backdrop.

· For me, music can determine my entire mood. If music helps you relax or have fun while being photographed, let’s pick out your favorite artists and crank up some tunes while we work. Let me know your preferences ahead of time and I will cue up the music before you arrive.

· One perk that the Nest has over the main North City studio, is no noise concerns from the downstairs neighbors. So, let’s get your kiddos playing and dancing and giggling in that next set of family photos =).

· The studio has a private bathroom available just inside the main entrance for your use throughout our session.

· The studio has beautiful natural light, particularly during the brighter seasons in Seattle. However, if it is a little dark out, don’t worry, we will use additional lighting to create gorgeous portraits with a natural light look.

Location

· The Nest by North City Studio is located at 17908 15th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155 (Across from Frank Lumber Co. The Door Store in Shoreline)

Parking

You may park off of 179th St. along the south side of the building or in any open space on 15th in front of the building.

· The studio is upstairs. At your session time, I will meet you in the downstairs lobby of the building and we will go up the stairs to reach the studio space. This space is not ADA wheelchair accessible. If you are interested in photos, but require accessibility without stairs, I would love to talk with you more about accessible outdoor options, an alternative studio option, or a photo session in your home. For mini sessions:

· Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your session (dressed and ready to be photographed) and wait in the downstairs lobby as only one family is allowed in the studio at a time.

· Mini Sessions will have 2-3 pre set spaces for photos. Because of the nature of mini sessions, there is not time to change out sets during your shoot. If you are interested in mixing it up and creating more studio looks, consider booking a full session of studio time so that we can utilize all of the furniture and backdrops desired.

· Also, due to the shortened nature of mini sessions, outfit changes are not available.
